Airport transportation

Oslo international airport Gardermoen (OSL) is served by most international airlines.

The Airport Express train ride is only 20 minutes to Oslo Central Station. Trains depart every 10 minutes. Check the timetable at www.flytoget.no. A one way ticket costs NOK 160 from the airport to the Oslo Central Station. The venue has direct access to the Oslo Central Station. You may also use one of the many direct busses. The busses leave Oslo Airport Gardermoen every 20 minutes to the Bus Terminal, which is located a five minutes walk from the conference venue only. Check the timetable at www.flybussen.no. A return ticket costs NOK 220. A taxi from the airport will cost at least NOK 550.

Driving to Oslo

If you decide to come to Oslo using your own car, please be aware of the Toll plazas you will have to pass by. The fee for driving inside Oslo City Centre, or just to pass by, is NOK 25,-. If you have Auto Pass Easy go, you can use the Auto Pass lanes.

Passport and visa requirements

Entrance requirements are best checked with the Royal Norwegian Embassy or Consulate in your country. Please contact Conference-Conference AS for letters of invitation. For EU-members and North Americans no visa is required.

Official Conference languages

The official language of the Conference is English.

Business centre / services

Participants will have access to a business centre with Internet possibilities. In the business centre located on the 2nd floor, above the reception, and on the same floor as the main meeting room, 2 computers are available. In addition, the hotel has wireless network possibilities. 5 broadband points are available in the reception area.

Shopping

The main shopping centres of Oslo are within walking distance of the venue and Conference hotels. The main areas of interest are the Main Street - Karl Johans gate, Aker Brygge and Bogstadveien/Hegdehaugsveien. A map will be provided when you register at the conference.

Voltage

220 Volts, 50 cycle AC. Standard European 2-round-pin plugs are used.

Tips and taxes

It is customary to tip porters in hotels who transport your luggage to your room 20 NOK per suitcase. Service charge is always included in restaurant bills, but additional tipping of 10 % may be included.

The prevailing rate of VAT in Norway is 25 %. A number of shops will arrange for VAT refund on purchased goods to be exported. The VAT may then be reclaimed at the airport.
